About Me
I am a classically trained Visual Designer with a BFA from VCUArts, and over a decade of experience.
While I am currently working as a UX/UI Designer, I like to call myself a Visual Designer, as the term encompasses the variety of mediums I am passionate about, and fields I have excelled in. I have experience working as a Graphic Designer, Creative Team Lead, Brand and Marketing Designer, Visual Design Manager, and UX/UI Designer.
I had a boss once say that I was the “Swiss Army Knife” of our design team because of my ability to quickly gain expertise in different areas of design in order to be a significant contributor to our organizational needs.
Some define UX as how it works and UI as how it looks. When you work with me, I’ll emphasize my motto, “good UI is good UX”. In other words — how it looks is how we inform the user about how it works. Regardless of whether I am creating a logo, a print advertisement, a website, or a feature for a mobile app; good design is about effective communication.
